All Year Round Lettuce seeds, can as the name suggests, be grown throughout the year given the right conditions. They’re hardy and can withstand the reduced light of a British Winter. They will need frost protection during colder months if planting outside permanently. This can be achieved through a glass or plastic cloche.
These Lettuce plants are a high yield and easy to grow vegetable, that are relatively easy to grow given good quality soil and consistent watering. Can be added to salads, burgers and as an ingredient to nutritional shakes.
To ensure the highest rate of germination and to account for the unpredictable British weather, grow these indoors on a warm sun soaked window cill or inside a greenhouse. Once the seedlings are large enough, you can then begin to plant these into pots. If the weather allows, you could also plant directly into your vegetable plot.
Keep well watered if planting indoors, but do not allow for the soil to become consistently soaked. This can cause mould, hinder root development and be detremental to the plants health.
When growing during the colder winter months, grow the lettuce seeds and plants under glass (i.e. in a poly tunnel or greenhouse) when temperatures reach <10c.
